In Friday Harbor, we made our way to a guest house which was providing us
with lodgings. This place, the Juniper Lane Guest House, is incredible and
no amount of my grappling with the enthusiastic and beautiful words in the
English language is going to impart how amazing it is. Beautiful salvaged
wood floors, great tile work, and every room with a different theme and different
color scheme. The "back yard" was actually a vast pasture in a
long valley with tall forested foothills on either side. A large longhaired
black tomcat greeted us along with Juniper herself, proprietress and, as
was eminently apparent, decorator extraordinaire.

Thanks for doing this! It was nice to stay in a place with such feeling
of community and uniqueness in a world that is becoming more and more
homogenized! Build more EVERYWHERE! Zelda and Salvador

Only one night planned, the pace of our trip always being on
the go......until..... time unwound for us here at your place.
The care and you-ness that you put into making this the exact
place that it is, complete with mother- of -pearl toilet
seats, a reading-and-chatting-and-guitar playing window box
built for two, a kitchen that oddly feels more like home
than my own, and sunsets on spectacular puffed clouds to
be enjoyed by the chiminea fire.....on and on I could go.
Thank you for making this the place of rest that it is. We
will remember this as a little time out of a life; a feeling
of being held. Cindi and Rick San Francisco and Fresno Ca.

Wow. Thank you for being a great collaboration of energy for
this world to have. Though the visit short, I enjoyed each
moment talking with and learning about you.....and your Juniper
Lane Inn seems to have a spirit if it's own. I am inspired
to dig deeper into my own banks of hopes and dreams and start
to truly follow some of my own heart's desires. I think it's
an inspiring achievement you've made and the tree is still
growing! Thanks for the love Renee Memphis, Tennessee

Really enjoyed your place and your hospitality, Juniper. A
gem of artistic craftsmanship! I tried to describe it to my
wife on the phone last night but couldn't. The pics wont do
it either, we'll just have to drive up here again Tom, San

June-bug I am watching celebrity poker and recovering from
a show @ herb's tavern. Some old guy yelled at me and said
he didn't like my songs. Paul still likes me though. But
enough about me. You, my darling are a star! Within a year
you've created one of the Northwest's most shining jewels....
This guest house is the best. WOW!!! It's even better than
I imagined. Keep on keeping on,

Juniper, I'd never have painted a room those colors but I am
glad you did. Your charm, personality, friendliness, spirit,
beauty, class, and your friends, made my 12 day stay the
most enjoyable business trip I have ever been on. I have
never felt more comfortable and at home while on the road.
If I should ever be this way again, I would hope you had
an open room. I wish you the best of luck in business and
in life, you deserve both for sure, Neil Knack, California

Your place has been a profoundly restful stop for me on my
journeys. I feel as if I've been sitting beneath the Bodhi
Tree, looking into the transient permanence of a moving river.

Thanks for your hospitality, great place much better than all
the hotels we stayed in on our vacation in Washington and
Oregon. We added a third pin to Israel on your guest map.
It is in the north of Israel in a large city called Haifa.

Just feel so sad that I only have one night, but I leave

On the
Ferry a man told us about your place, so we checked it out and it was great.
The rooms are all very nice and so colourful. The Whale watching was also very
cool; we saw a Grey Whale! Tomorrow we are leaving to home but with good
memories. Have fun and "Tot Later" Josie and Carl,

Juniper your style and hospitality is unparalleled as far as
innkeepers go, and beyond that you are simply one of the
coolest people we have ever met! I have no doubt in my mind
that this will soon become one of San Juans main attractions!
Thank you for all your kindness and understanding, we can
really tell you know what its like to be a traveler. Best
of luck in all your years to come and we will forever be
singing high praises of Juniper Lane.

It's hard to recall the last time I had such a restful sleep.
Peace be unto you. The solitude of the environment was better
than a warm blanket and more like a big hug. In this life
we all need more hugs. The love is in the details from the
moment you walk in the door; the turn down of the sheets
to the shower water that tingles invitingly like so much
crushed ice into a dry martini. I suppose I could go on but
I know too well that no description could ever scratch the
surface of the essence created here. This IS the best. If
I had died in my sleep, at least last night I was in Heaven.

of the west coast)

This is my first, of many, visits to
your charming place. I am already looking forward to my next visit
and I haven’t even
left yet. When I arrived on the island I decided to walk to Juniper
Lane Guest House. By the time I got here it was dark.......and
I was beat, when I turned the corner and saw this place, porch
light on and glowing softly, it was like an oasis. I had been travelling
alone all day and as soon as I saw the note pinned by the door,
I felt like I was home. From the moment that I stepped in I felt
very welcomed and tranquil. This place is FULL of good vibes that
can’t be ignored. I have had the run of the place and have
thoroughly enjoyed the peace and serenity found here. You have
a one-of-a-kind place here, definately on the top of the list of
my favorites! I look forward to having Juniper Lane as my home
away from home while on the island. Thank You! For your generosity,
creativity, and love for your craft. Cene’ S. Bryant Lakehead
